Hi, nice to meet you.
I’m Bard Suen.

I earned my Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Ottawa in 2019. After training at a reputable family law firm in Toronto, I was called to the Ontario bar in 2020. During my practice in Toronto, I gained valuable experience with complex parenting and financial matters in family law. I have represented clients in mediation, appeared before the Ontario Provincial and Superior Courts for case conferences and procedural motions, and contributed writing to The Lawyer’s Daily by LexisNexis.

In 2024, I was called to the British Columbia bar after returning home to Vancouver, where my deep-rooted commitment to community work led me to establish Bard’s Law. My practice is dedicated to providing thoughtful, accessible legal services that center clients’ unique needs and lived experiences.

My approach to family law is shaped by my own family’s history—my parents divorced when I was one, and my mother raised my sister and me on her own. This perspective informs my interest in trauma-informed lawyering and 2SLGBTQIA+ issues in family law. I strive to offer legal support that is compassionate, practical, and respectful to people of all backgrounds.

I am a settler on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples.

My preferred pronouns are he/him.
