About Bard Suen.
Hi — I’m Bard.
I am a family lawyer with experience practicing in both British Columbia and Ontario. I earned my Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2019 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2020 after training at a well-regarded family law firm in Toronto. During my time in Toronto, I worked on a range of complex parenting and financial matters and represented clients in mediation and court proceedings.
I have appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Provincial Court of British Columbia, Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Justice in applications, conferences, and motions. My legal writing has also been published by The Lawyer’s Daily (LexisNexis).
In 2024, I returned home to Vancouver and was called to the British Columbia Bar, where I founded Bard’s Law. My practice is rooted in a commitment to thoughtful, accessible family law services that take into account each client’s circumstances, priorities, and lived experience.
My approach to family law is informed in part by my own family history. My parents separated when I was very young, and I was raised by my mother alongside my sister. This background has shaped my interest in trauma-informed lawyering and my sensitivity to the emotional and relational dimensions of family law disputes. I strive to provide legal support that is clear, practical, and respectful, while helping clients navigate difficult transitions with greater confidence and care.
I am committed to providing inclusive legal services and welcome clients of all backgrounds, including members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I aim to create a professional environment where clients feel heard, supported, and understood.
I acknowledge that I am a settler on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ / Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples.
My pronouns are he/him.
